St Carlo Bomorreo PS Library

On Monday 30th April, I did work placement at the library at St Carlo’s. Maria gave me a list of jobs to do.

I scanned children’s books, sorted out the sheep art work, reshelved books, I displayed the Mr Men art work, found the reading challenge books and put them in the reading challenge book section, cut out the love to read title and I displayed it on the wall, tidied the shelves and made sure the correct letters are on the shelves, delivered the sheep art work to a few different grades.

I really had a great time at St Carlos. Thank you Maria for letting me come to your library. Thank you Aunty Tania for helping me to organise this great work experience. On Tuesday I wanted to go back to work experience instead of school because I loved it so much.

From a proud mum….
Who ever thought this day would come….is this the child who we were told would come to nothing in Grade Prep?

Sometimes the pride makes one lost for words. As this is one of those times I will simply copy the words of Cadet Maxim, that I have on a piece of paper above my desk….words that have driven me for all these years and have provided different shades of light at different stages of this journey:

Risk more than others think is safe.
Care more than others think is wise.
Dream more than others think is practical.
Expect more than others think is possible.
…..And never, ever give up

Thanks to Maria (& St Carlo’s PS) for having Lauren for the day and giving her such a fabulous experience. Thanks also to my sister Tania for making this happen. Doing this day early in the year will allow Lauren to have a day off in the official Work Experience week in November (which will prove invaluable as she tires towards the end of the year).

It is particularly uplifting for us as a family at the moment as Lauren is really finding Year 10 a massive struggle in 2012. So this has proved to be a well timed experience for Lauren as pathway options become more and more relevant. Her next work placement is a four day one in November and hopefully that will prove to be as positive experience as on this occasion.

Well done my beautiful child. We are so proud of you!
