Congratulations to Lauren on successful completion of VCE (unscored)!
What a truly magnificent achievement for a young person who was told in Grade Prep to “be realistic” academically….. because she would fail grade prep.
Truth is that Lauren has so many people to thank for this outstanding achievement…..a whole host of “villagers” who have been part of “Team Lauren” at different points. Too many to mention but one hopes that they know who they are (I think they do!).
Truth is that we did not dream this big way back then. We just kept “pushing the perimeter of Lauren’s circle” – baby step after baby step has got Lauren to the day she received this incredible certificate. (If you don’t get this reference I suggest you read Lauren’s Creed Wings To Fly)
Truth is work habits and skills are much more important than IQ because with work habits and skills a student like Lauren can chip away at academic goals.
Truth is the bar should be set neither too high nor too low…..because when the bar is set at “challenging but within one’s reach” a young person is set up to succeed.
Truth is Lauren should be the norm not the exception…..that every student should have the chance to achieve their goals.
Truth is, my heart bursts with pride for Lauren and all who have helped her get to this point…no matter how small or how big your contribution has been….THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Go Lauren! Clever girl!!!!!!!!

Long Term Goal Achieved!
