In February 2013, Lauren participated in the school swimming sports. Mum had actually tossed up the idea of keeping her at home for a rest day as it had been a hot week and Lauren was extremely tired after a furious start to Year 11. Anyway, knowing Lauren loves water and she was keen for water play, Isent her along only for her to walk out at the end of the school day with all the booty shown in the photo! Well done!
Lauren….all those years of Swimming Lessons have paid off in the last few months!
May I say that sometimes we put our kids into activities where we can wonder if they actually learnt much at the time. Can I say that sometimes the evidence surfaces many years later and I certainly feel this way about swimming. Food for thought…..
No real other news from this end….other than Lauren has begun Year 11 VCE. Are we confident? No. But Lauren has worked hard enough to be given the chance. She is enrolled in two subjects of lesser difficulty (Music and Maths) and two of considerable difficulty (English and Studio Arts). We have worked out butts off this term with SACS (School Assessed Course Work) but so far so good! If this doesn’t result in a VCE certificate we will not consider it a failure as we are so proud of her. But wish us luck for giving it a try!
